I recently tried this protein powder within the Vega brand due to one of my normal vegan protein powders being sold out. I am no stranger to the Vega brand, I’d just never tried the specific protein powder I’m going to tell you about.
I picked up the vanilla flavor of the Vega Sport Protein powder hoping it would taste decent (their earlier protein powders didn’t taste good as did many vegan protein powders – so it just took time for them to improve what they had and also come out with many different protein powders as they have now).
Vega has been around since 2004 and is pretty much the 1st vegan protein powder I recall ever seeing at my local health food store (nothing like this existed at normal grocery stores until just a few years ago). The Vega brand was created by Brendan Brazier who is now a former Pro Triathlete.
Vega Sport Protein Powder Flavors:
- Peanut Butter
How Did It Taste?
The vanilla flavor tastes absolutely delicious! I love it! Super-fantastic and enjoyable!
Protein Powder Features:
-6g BCAAs (Branch chain amino acids)
-Tart cherry juice (for muscle recovery)
-1 billion bacterial count of probiotics
-Zero added sugars
-No artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners
BCAAs are the essential amino acids leucine, isoleucine & valine, which comprise 35% of your body’s muscle protein. They’re “essential” because your body doesn’t produce them on it’s own, you have to get them from either food or workout supplements.
You can check out this protein powder on the Vega.com website 🙂 They also have small single serve packets available (that’s how I got to try this protein powder) which are usually sold at health food stores and at some grocery stores that sell vegan protein powder.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you gained something helpful from this blog post! 🙂
