There are so many skincare products on the market, it’s hard to know what does what. Reading the ingredients can easily become a confusing and tongue twisting experience!
Enter Niacinamide.
Niacinamide is a skincare ingredient I had heard of before, but never really paid attention to until last month in March 2021. When I heard about the skincare benefits, it peaked my interest and I ended up buying a skincare product with Niacinamide in it.
As always, I was scared to try a new product on my face due to the fact that it has become extremely sensitive due to the skin trauma caused from having severe chronic eczema for most of my life.
The great news is that I did in fact try the product and not only do I love the product so far, but my skin does too!
The product that I am using is by the brand Glow Recipe and the product is called ‘Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops‘.
It smells lovely and not too overpowering. My skin feels soft, supple and looks dewy after applying the product to my face. I have been using the product for 1 week now.
Best of all, it is a ‘Clean by Sephora’ product. I have had positive experiences with the products under the ‘Clean’ category and highly recommend it to everyone, not just because of less exposure to toxic chemicals, but because you may have better luck finding makeup and skincare that agrees with your skin if it is sensitive.
What is Niacinamide?
It’s a water soluble vitamin that works with natural substances in your skin to help visibly diminish various skin concerns. It is also known as vitamin B3 and Nicotinamide.

6 Ways Niacinamide Helps Improve Your Skin:
1)It supports the skin barrier and helps to strengthen the skin
2) Diminishes the appearance of dullness
3) Minimizes fine lines and wrinkles
4) Suitable for people with sensitive skin and it’s gentle enough to not cause skin irritation
5) Treats hyperpigmentation and helps to even out skin tone
6) Helps to diminish the appearance of pores
Things To Keep In Mind:
- Everyone’s skin is different! Always test new products on your skin first with a sample to ensure it agrees with your skin
- Niacinamide can be used by both women and men in their skincare regimens
- Niacinamide is a more gentle option to retinol and can be a good type of product to start with
